This position operates out of both our Clackamas and Hillsboro locations. We offer paid paramedic school tuition assistance for EMTs, and offer flexible schedules that work around your school schedule if you’re currently enrolled in an EMT or Paramedic program, or are currently taking pre-requisite courses for Paramedic school.

Metro West Ambulance is currently offering a $17,000 sign-on bonus for new full time Paramedics with a one-year employment commitment. Metro West Ambulance is an experienced and established leader in Community Paramedicine – Mobile Integrated Health Care. We are proud to partner with four of our region’s largest health systems in providing customized, innovative mobile health care services focusing on readmission avoidance, treatment of low acuity medical conditions, chronic disease management, surgical and urgent follow up, and virtual hospital patient care. The ideal candidate has a minimum 2 years experience working in a high performance EMS system, home health environment, or clinical setting. Additional clinical training in remote medicine, critical care, pharmacology, social work or completion of a Community Paramedic Education Program is preferred but not required. Duties include the repair and maintenance of ambulances and vans in a timely and accurate manner. Specifically, engine and fuel systems diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting and repair, brake and electrical system work, front line mechanic inspections and preventive maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma, or equivalent education
  • 2 years recent and verifiable Line Mechanic experience
  • 2 ASE Certifications (Truck or Automotive series). Preferably Brake and Steering / Suspension
  • AC Certification or equivalent ASE Certification
  • Proficient with computers
  • Must have a full set of personal tools (specialty tools will be provided)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Ability to read, interpret, understand and complete repairs utilizing repair manuals
